Mini Mailbox
The Dollar Spot at Target has a multitude of treasures. One of them was this super cute mini mailbox. It was white and I went and decorated it up with designer paper and ribbon. They also came in silver, pink, and red. I picked white because it was pretty neutral. Since I'm not much into Valentine's Day, I just did up a mini mailbox for any time. I got the directions and dimensions from Emily Giovanni's blog. Stop by and check it out. She has lots of cute projects and cards to look at, plus she takes all the guess work out of the project by providing easy step-by-step directions and photos. http://emilygiovanni.com/?p=1520

Large Scallop Valentine Boxes
Are these absolutely adorable or what. I cannot take credit though. The idea came from Carol Taggerts blog. http://www.stillstamping.com/. Carol has the complete instructions for making these cute little mini treat boxes made from the Sizzix Scalloped Circle die. I put 4 Reese's peanut butter cups in each container.

Color Challenge #38
Well it was another "snow" day. Really it was too cold to go to school. What do you do when you can't go to work? You stamp! My stamping space is in a little bit of chaos so I stamped at my mom's house. I wasn't really sure how this color combination would work, but they do. KWerner always delivers! Here's the Color Challenge #38! This flower set is from the new catalog and it's called Sweet Stems. The words are from the Upsy Daisy set.

New Craft Space
One would think with a long Christmas vacation that I would have found more time for stamping and creating, but honestly we have been helping my dad transform our basement into a new craft space and "man" room for my husband. My room gets done first. I know it doesn't look like much now but my dreams are big and the project has begun which is a great sign. In only a couple days it is already beginning to change. I can't wait to create new and beautiful things in this future room.

Christmas Cookie Tradition
Our family has pretty much always made Christmas cookies. We used to do more sugar cookie cut outs and decorating when we were younger, but over the last couple years our interests turned to decorating gingerbread men and women. Now the traditional gingerbread cookie ansemble would consist of a white powdered sugar frosting, red hots, and raisins for eyes. A couple years back my sister and I thought we would jazz up cookie decorating by giving the gingerbread men and women clothes. Ever since then, our traditional family cookie decorating was turned upside down but in a good way. Here are some of the unique cookies we decorated this year.
Color Inspiration Challenge #36
Happy 2009! The new year is upon us and will hopefully bring many wonderful things...like a new Spring and Summer catalog and more color inspirations. This is the first color challenge at KWernerDesign.com and I love it. It helps me to stop thinking about the snow that has continually fallen every other day here. I was also excited to use a new hostess set from the Spring and Summer Stampin' Up catalogue. It is called Goody Goody Gumdrops! It is adorable.
