Color Inspiration #42

I have found some free time this weekend to stamp at my parents house, due to the nature of my own stamping space. I have missed doing color challenges and I am glad I had time to work on one this weekend. Although the snow kept falling today these colors scream spring. My sister even said they were ugly, but I said just wait. She changed her tune once she saw the card I created.

I used some new sets: Cheap Talk and Absolutely Fabulous

Trendy Trees

I just got a huge shipment filled with awesome goodies from Stampin' Up. I had to take advantage of the celebration deal. I mean who can beat free stuff. Well I got lots of new stamp sets that I can't wait to play with, but one of my favorites was Trendy Trees. I love trees so this was a no brainer for me to order. I came up with this cute card highlighting the new set. Hopefully I will create many more cards with this set.

New Craft Space Update

Well it has been just a little while since I updated the status of the new craft room. In only a few weeks we insulated, wired, and I came last week to find my dad and uncle putting in lights. I am so excited. We just hung out first wall with drywall. I never thought it would be so exciting, but seeing it all come together is amazing. The only hard part is not getting to stamp, but it is worth it to put away my stuff for a while in order to have a beautiful and relaxing space just for me.

Woo hoo! Blue walls are much better than gray concrete ones.

All the can lights are in. This is a big improvement from the two light bulbs I had illuminating my craft space.

The first sheet of drywall! It's really happening!

One wall is finished. Things are really starting to come together! My dad is a rock star!

New Catalog Swap

As previously promised, here are the other cards we got back in the new catalog swap we participated in.

What a wide range of cards. It is always fun to do swaps and see what interesting things people come up with. I can't wait to use more new stamp sets.

February Stamp Class

We detoured from the beaten path to brighter days for our February stamping class. We wanted to "think spring" a little early. Hopefully we didn't jinx anything by doing all our cards with flowers. There were some many cute flower sets to choose from in the new Spring and Summer Stampin Up catalog. We used the Sweet Stems set in two of our cards and the Simply Said set on the other. Now all we can do is pray for no more snow...seriously!

This card has an interesting twist on using the tab punch for something other than a tab, a cute flower pot!

This card is using the new Raspberry Tart designer paper. If that doesn't punch things up a bit, I don't know what will.

This last card was from a card swap we did several months ago, but it remained one of our favorites.

Valentine Candy Bags

Mom decided to do something special for everyone in our stamping group for our February stamp class. She was inspired by a snowman candy bag we made at a class around Christmas, but she wanted to make it for our upcoming holiday- Valentine's Day! She used the Top Note die and the Big Shot as well as the new heart punch from the Spring and Summer Catalog.

Spring and Summer Catalog Swap

Mom and I joined a swap for upcoming sets in the Spring and Summer catalog. We each had to make ten cards and we will get nine different cards in return. It will be really fun to see all the great ideas that were inspired by new stamp sets. Mom made a cute card using the Sweet Stems and Raspberry Tart Designer Paper.

I made a monochromatic card using all purple colors. This card reminds me of a paint chip at the hardware store. I used to Petal Pizzaz set and the Trio Flower punch for the center of the flower. We will post the cards we get back from our swap.
